Jaisalmer is on the edge of India, about 120 km from the border of Pakistan, and inside the Thar Desert. It is a laid back town with lots of different things to see and do. One of them being a camel, or dromedary rides or overnight camping excursions.

Jaipur - The Pink City is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan in Northern India. The pinkness comes from the stone exclusively used for the construction of all the structures. The pink color has its own history. In 1876, the Prince of Wales and Queen Elizabeth II visited India on a tour. Since pink denotes the color of hospitality, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur painted the whole city pink in color to welcome the guests. The tradition has been sincerely followed by the residents who are now, by law, compelled to maintain the pink color.

Jodhpur is the second largest city in the state of Rajasthan, India. It is called the Gateway to Thar, as it is literally on the edge of the Thar desert. Jodhpur is also known as the Blue City, an apt name as most houses in the old city are shades of blue. Although I felt the blue was fading a little.

Pushkar is one of the oldest existing cities of India. It lies on the shore of Pushkar Lake. The date of its actual origin is not known, but legend associates Lord Brahma with its creation. Hence the only Brahma temple in India is situated in Pushkar and is one the major attractions here. Unfortunately, like most temples you can't take photos of the interior. To that, I decided not to go to the only Brahma temple in India.
